And here we ..... GO

How about that? Finally the dissassembly is getting started.  Started with some basic wintermaintenance stuff like removing the battery and draining the tank. Always fun to drain a tank, because you always forget that smart little handpump you bought so you wouldn't  have to get a big tasty mouthful of delicious gasoline.
Anyway tank drained and removed, te battery is put on winterrecharging but I wont be using it again.
Instead I'm going to use a LiFePo4 battery that weighs in on just under 800 grams, still nice to have your stuff in order though.

And we finish off with a few photos just to lighten up this post.

Why?

I will start my first post with two questions.

Who in their rightful mind would buy a broken motorcycle for a still pretty impressive amount of money?
And what makes the same man want to restore and throw an even more impressive pile of those hard earned greenbacks on it?
Well? I don’t have an answer really, is it just because I want a piece of shiny kit? Because I love the bike and it loves me? Or maybe it’s just because of the fact that I can do it? Anyways this little o’l blog of mine isn’t supposed to be some kind of a amateur philosophy attempt. My goal is simply to put together a piece of homologation special for your (the brave souls who reads this) amusement.
I will try and put an effort into the updates on this thing, pictures and some videos are hopefully going to be posted here. Let’s start right now.
Here is the bike, a battered and abused 2000 model Honda SP1, dented on both sides and overall not overhauled properly for a long time. My plan is to get it pretty to look at first, that means a LOT of work with the busted fairings and the tank.  Some other stuff is planned this winter as well but I think I will keep that a secret for now.

Peace.
